2024-25 Advocacy in Action





Strengthening our Policy Process
This year, KAP strengthened and formalized its policy-making process.
Ensuring our advocacy is grounded in member input, guided by clear principles, and responsive to emerging issues.
KAP continues to deliver credible, effective advocacy on behalf of Manitoba producers.

Resolution Drafted
KAP members and commodity group members can write resolutions.

District and Commodity Group Discussion
Members present the drafted resolution to their local district or commodity group.

Resolutions Committee
If the local district or commodity group agrees to the resolution, members forward the resolution to the KAP office for the resolutions committee to review.

Advisory Council or AGM
After resolutions committee’s approval, members present their resolutions at the AGM or advisory council for further debate. Resolution approval requires a majority vote.

Referred to Committee
Members may refer a resolution to committee for further research.
06
Board Review
The board of directors reviews resolutions and decides what action is required.
07
KAP Staff
KAP staff carry out the board’s recommended action.

Resolution Reporting
Recent resolutions are posted on the KAP advocacy webpage with updates.
